What we offer
The purpose of this course is to specify, in terms of performance objectives, the minimum requirements for professional service as a responder to hazardous materials incidents. This course shall cover the requirements for the Hazardous Materials Technician level.
Successful completion of this program will entitle a candidate to challenge the Office of the Fire Marshal provincial exam for IFSAC Accreditation for this level. This course develops the skills already learned and provides training in the mitigation of hazardous materials incidents using specialized skills and equipment. Hazardous Materials technicians are capable of responding in an offensive fashion to incidents to protect people, the environment and property. Students will gain knowledge in the areas of terrorism, incident command, post operation activities, legislation and media. Specialized equipment will be studied in class and utilized during practical scenarios. During the practical scenarios, students will have the opportunity to work in command positions and complete extensive activities in the hot zone.
This is a very physically demanding course, which requires you to be in good physical condition.
Payment must be made when registering for courses. We reserve the right to cancel seven days prior to any course in which the minimum registration is not achieved.

All manuals required for the program are supplied, and must be returned upon completion of the program, they are available for purchase if desired.
Students must bring
As this course involves physical activities, a change of clothes is advisable, shower facilities are available. A practical outdoor exercise will be performed as part of this course. Please dress according to weather.
