About FESTI
FESTI is a private career college providing exceptional training for fire and emergency service professionals. We also offer corporate training and team building experiences. We are part of Canada’s largest international airport, Toronto Pearson, and the airport’s fully operational fire service. We have three operational fire stations separate from FESTI. Station 1 contains our headquarters and Fire Chief who manages the entire emergency response and FESTI operation.
Here, you will experience things in life that only first responders do. Our vision is to be the recognized, worldwide training leader in emergency services, occupational health and safety, and airport emergency preparedness.
Rise further at FESTI
Firefighting requires confidence, resilience, effective communication and the ability to react under pressure. And this is only possible by combining a theoretical understanding of the discipline as well as practical hands-on experience. As part of the GTAA’s fire department, responsible for Canada’s busiest airport, FESTI’s training programs holistically deliver on both the theoretical and practical needs of this challenging industry.
In fact, our training program is the only one in the country operated by a working fire department, allowing participants to be immersed in the firefighting community from the get-go. Our full-time instructors, state-of-the-art-facility and props provide a comprehensive environment like no other.
So, whether you are looking to explore firefighting as a career, want to grow further as an emergency service professional, want to learn and transfer the skills that make firefighters such strong communicators and leaders, or just need a fun playground to unleash your creativity, let us help you take that next step.
Because the best training and environment are what enable us to raise the best firefighters.
Come and experience how FESTI can you help you rise further too.
Rise further.
Introduction to FESTI
Real adrenaline, real training
FESTI is part of a professional fire department, so our students are immersed in firefighting culture and routinely interact with firefighters, officers and chiefs throughout the program.
At our on-site, state-of-the-art, live fire training facilities, students experience practical fire training. Our 40-acre training grounds include two aircraft mock-ups, a rail car, a confined space building, and specialized areas and props that replicate a multitude of emergency scenarios.
In this realistic environment, you’ll spend more than 50% of your time developing hands-on skills, including responding to fire scenarios in our burn house and rescue tower, climbing ladders, practicing search and rescue, learning firefighting survival, auto extrication, extinguishing vehicle fires and fighting flammable liquids fires.
Finally, we’re centrally located, close to major highways and a short drive from Toronto.
