What we offer
The purpose of the Hazardous Materials Awareness course is to specify, in terms of performance objectives, the minimum requirements for professional service as a responder to hazardous materials incidents. This course shall cover the requirements for the Hazardous Materials Awareness level.
It is designed for those personnel (fire, police, EMS, and industry) who may be first on the scene of a hazardous materials emergency. The Hazardous Materials Awareness course is accredited by the IFE (Institute of Fire Engineers Canada). The content includes awareness-level information that is mandated by OSHA and EPA regulations; and is recommended by national standards. Stressing safety, the program describes correct Awareness level actions, including how to recognize potential problems, take appropriate action to protect themselves and others, collect hazard information from the current edition of the Emergency Response Guidebook, and initiate actions that lead to a favorable outcome.
Course delivery method
Asynchronous instructor-led course.
Course hours
Six (6) hours of training split into two (2) half-sessions: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM.

Payment must be made when registering for courses. We reserve the right to cancel seven days prior to any course in which the minimum registration is not achieved.
